Lessons

General Information

We offer both group and private lessons
We offer lessons in English riding
You will need hard-soled, treadless shoe or boot with approximately a one-inch heel (not hiking boots or tennis shoes)
Helmets are required and provided for the first 6 lessons, after which you will want to purchase your own
Long jeans or breeches should be worn each lesson
Lessons run on a semester schedule, similar to sports schedules for other sport disciplines (see below for more details)
Advanced students are given the option to lease a horse from L & B Farms (or, in some cases, a willing boarder) at their trainer's discretion
Private lessons available upon request, $70/45 minutes

Semesters are 9 weeks in length, with 8 weeks prepaid and the 9th week available to make up any missed lessons that semester
Any cancellations made 24 or more hours in advance of your scheduled lesson are eligible for makeup
Lessons will be made up the same week if possible, or the last week of the semester; however, they will not carry forward to the next semester
A horsemanship lesson will be incorporated into each semester
(ground lesson focusing on items such as wrapping, lunging, anatomy, equipment, feeding, barn management, first aid, signs of illness, etc.)
If cancellation is due to horse scheduling, it will be made up as a horsemanship lesson
If cancellation is weather or trainer-related, it will be made up as a scheduled make up lesson
Semester cancellations require 30-day notice
Payment for the semester is due a week before the semester begins to allow for scheduling; late payment is $50/semester
A la carte pricing is available at an increased price; group lesson a la carte pricing is $65/hour
The semester policy does not apply to lease students, as lessons for leasing will continue to be included as part of the lease; however, 24-hour notice still applies, as well as the availability of make-up lessons

Pricing reflects 1 lesson/week. Inquire for pricing on multiple lessons/week.

July 13^th to September 13^th; make up days are September 9^th, 10^th, & 11^th; paid in full by July 6^th — $400
September 14^th to November 15^th; make up days are November 11^th, 12^th, & 13^th; paid in full by September 7^th — $400
November 16^th to January 3^rd; make up days are December 30^th, 31^st, & January 1^st; paid in full by November 9^th — $300

Prices & make-up-days will be announced in December.
